User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Great Headset
I purchased 5 of these headsets and they work great for my office. We are a busy eyedoctor’s office and it makes it easier to be on our computers and be talking on the phone with our patients. The only complaint we have is that the headset and earpiece does get uncomfortable after a while but we just change to the other ear. The handset lifer is a must if you need to be moving around.

1 Star Junk
Yes, it is wireless, and I can use it with our VoIP phones. But,for something costing around $250, I expected better.

The headset base station has to be 4″ away from my phone to avoid feedback with the speakerphone. Since that is about the length of the wires connecting the two devices, options for placement on the desktop become limited. The adjustment buttons are on the back and underside of the base station – not an easy place to get at, especially if you care about seeing the state of the device’s charge.

The handset lifter is a joke, lacking the power to return the handset to the off position if the phone is tilted up to a position where I can read its notification window. It also has to be affixed to the phone unit in a way that covers the speaker on most models, which obviates use.

Finally, the provided earploops are junk.

5 Stars Love this headset!
I’ve been using this headset at work for the last year and a half and absolutely love it! The sound quality is supurb, the weight is light, and the range is decent (up to 100 feet or so with thin office walls and cubicles in between).

I just ordered another for my wife (who works from home) who will need to answer the phone from throughout the house once our first baby arrives. She’s already tested it in every room of the house (2-story), and the back yard as well without the slightest loss of signal (base unit in loft in middle of house).

I believe the sticker price for this was far more than I expected, but thanks to Amazon I was able to spend $150 less than my work did for mine!

Excellent….

5 Stars Great!
Great product—gives me lots of freedom to work on the run. It is very easy to install—-I am glad I made this purchase.

4 Stars Great Range
I looked at lots of these earpieces and chose this one because of the reviews on it. I was not disappointed. Easy to set up and use. Earpiece is not the most comfortable in the world but I can walk all around my home and still answer the phone as if I were at my desk.

BlackBerry International Travel Charger Black

Cell Phone Deals | Monday November 23 2009 8:57 pm | Comments (0)

BlackBerry International Travel Charger Black

Compact, lightweight RIM BlackBerry travel charger lets you fully charge your handheld while on the road. Comes with AC adapter with removeable clips for North American, Europe, UK, and Australian outlet adapters

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Blackberry charger
Product arrived timely and seems comparable to the one included with BB.

I am well pleased with this order

1 Star Did not work
I bought this product so I could charge my BlackBerry on a trip to Ireland. It did not work (no charging and charging icon did not show on BB screen). There was no way to check it prior to the trip. So, this meant I had to buy the adapter there — buying it twice, the Ireland cost being quite high. (The one I bought in Ireland charged very slowly, but it did charge and the being charged icon showed on the BB screen.) I feel certain the company would have accepted a return, but since I couldn’t test it here, that did me no good. Plus carrying it around on the rest of the trip and the return postage on this low cost item didn’t make it worth while.

1 Star The images do not show the item that is delivered
I purchased this based on the images that show a separate cable and adapter brick. I wanted the option of using the cable with the computer or the charging brick. I already have a charger that came with my BB that has an attached cable which is another wire in the bag! Guess what, I got the same thing again!!!!!!

5 Stars Blackberry International travel charger
Ecellent product. Love the fact that you only have to change the prongs. It also works with Motorola products like the Razr and the Bluetooth headsets. A must have for the frequent traveller!

5 Stars Best charger for travel.
This charger worked great for my international travel. The best part was I only had to change the small plug adapter when arriving at the US Airport upon my return.

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Cool accessory, a bit confusing
I’ve really enjoyed being able to listen to music wires-free. The padding on them makes them very comfortable, something my other headphones lack on the part that goes over the head. And it’s great to be able to control volume, pause/play, and skip through songs right from the headphones.

The pairing has been a bit confusing for me, though. I’ve had some trouble trying to get it into paring mode. It’s had to figure out what mode it’s in from the blinking light. I haven’t been able to get it to pair with both my phone and my iPod’s adapter. Either one of those works, though.

I haven’t tested out the battery life in full, but it’s lasted through 2 hours without having a problem.

It would also be nice to be able to use them while they are charging.

5 Stars excellent product great value!
My son was able to activate the bluetooth on his 16GB iPod Touch and wanted Stereo bluetooth headphones to listen to his music. After going to the Apple Store (which had nothing) and Future Shop which had very expensive and inferior products my son found this product online and has been delighted with it! It works so much better that the $200 inferior product Future Shop tried to sell us.

3 Stars Eh.. Okay I guess..
Over all I gave it 3 stars due to audio quality only, but would have given it 3.5 stars if Amazon would let me. :) I’m sure there are those here who will say its a good mid-ranged headset, but as far as quality sound goes its about a 6.5 out of 10 for me. Everything else is great, and it works flawlessly to me. It just doesn’t handle volume or bass too well, so it only gets so loud without distortion setting in. Because of that I would have thought it pricey, but it is well made, sturdy, and functions as it should (bluetooth). I have some 5yr old $20.00 DJ styled sony headphone that will blow the sound of these clear AWAY!! This device is good for travel, gym, eh.. maybe thats it. I wish my sony’s were bluetooth enabled. :(

3 Stars Not bad for a bluetooth headset
This is the first bluetooth set i own so i can’t say for sure if this is the headset’s fault or not but connection drops once every two minutes. This also is a big headset, that’s not necessarily bad but something to keep in mind. Other than that the build quality is fine and it sits pretty comfortably on the head.

3 Stars Nice sound, difficult pairing
I’ve had these headphone for a few months. I use them with my IPOD Touch 2nd Gen and a Sony Ipod wireless adapter. They are large but comfortable. I find I am even willing to carry them when I travel to get the better sound. The one major downside is that they are difficult to pair. I also have a set of IO Gear headphones that came with a bluetooth adapter. These headphones would not pair with that adapter. I also have different ipod bluetooth adapter that they wouldn’t pair with. They only seem to work with the Sony one. Yesterday, I downloaded the Ipod Touch OS 3.0 which FINALLY enables the internal bluetooth transmitter on my IPOD touch. When I first attempted to pair these headphones with the ipod it didn’t even recognized them. I had to go to the motorola site and look at the specific directions for pairing with the iPhone. It took 3 attempts but it finally worked. Volume adjustment works but not the pause or track changing features. On the other hand, my IO Gear headphones were instantly recognized by the IPOD Touch internal bluetooth radio and paired as soon as I put in the pin code. I just wanted to warn others that upgrade to the IPOD 3.0 OS that you should be careful if you are buying these to use with your Touch without an adapter, be prepared to play with it alittle to get it to work.

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Good phone holder
Good phone holder. I would like a magnet closer versus the velcro closer. The velcro is secure enough but sometimes it feels like it might come open, or maybe I am paranoid.

4 Stars Solid Product – Inexpensive
Gets the job done. Soft leather. No problems to date. Might not protect the corners of your iPhone. A little difficult getting the phone in and out of this holster. Great value for the price.

2 Stars hard to get phone in and out
1. The clip is really tight so it does fit on your belt tightly but it’s also a bit hard getting it on initially

2. it closes with Velcro so you can’t just flip open the flap and take out your iphone – you have to tug it open; so this decreases the “flow” of grabbing for your phone and it may seem minor but it gets annoying after a while. In addition on this same point, the phone is *SO* snug and tight that it takes a bit of time to get it into and out of the pouch once you do open that velcro flap. The result is I just end up putting the phone in my front pocket.

It’s so different than the blackberry one where you seamlessly put your phone in and out of the pouch – but you can’t use that with the iphone because of the magnet so don’t try.

Still looking for an iphone holder as well-designed as the blackberry ones but so far haven’t found it.

3 Stars iPhone case well constructed but won’t fit iPhone 3Gs with inCase slider
A very well constructed case but it won’t fit the iPhone 3Gs if your iPhone is encased in an inCase Slider as mine is.

5 Stars Completely happy with this case
This is the only case I have for my phone but I did look at and try out several others in the store before buying. The dealer at the AT&T store cautioned me that it was a tight fit and that he didn’t like it for that reason. I have since found that it is really a perfect fit, and not tight at all, if you insert the phone in the correct orientation – which is to say with the screen facing the back. Secure but not tight with no risk of falling out. I read the complaints about the cutaways. I actually count the cutaways at the corners as an advantage because they allow you to access the controls and have headphones plugged in while in the case, which other cases without the cutaways do not. I suppose if you have the misfortune of dropping the phone in the case and a corner hits then it might damage the corners but I wanted that added functionality, so just don’t drop your phone. I think this is the most attractive of all the cases and I am proud to wear it on my belt at work or with dress clothes. The velcro latching mechanism is superb and I don’t see this ever wearing out like some cheaper velcro does. also I paid $30 dollars for this at the AT&T store so the amazon.com price is a bargain. Highly recommended.

User Ratings and Reviews

1 Star JUNK – Buy the Duracell
This thing is JUNK. There needs to be a 0 Star rating. I appreciated how well the Duracell (DPP-600HD Powerpack 600) was built after comparing it to the Black & Decker Electromate 400 (PS400JRB). I returned two of these units to Amazon and decided that was enough. The Black & Decker was very cheaply made. The first unit I received, would not take a charge; right out of the box. After Returning it, the second unit I received the radio didn’t not work and the volume knob just spun freely with no adjustment to the sound. After returning the second one, I went with the Duracell. Spend a little ($30) more for the Duracell, you will get 200 Watts more power, more features, and 100% better quality and craftsmanship. I wrote a full review for the Duracell on it’s own product page.

3 Stars Excellent product WITH proper maintenance
There are so many good things about this product. Most are obvious and the rest are stated in other reviews. However, I do want to explain how you can easily render this product totally USELESS….. accidentally of course.

The problem is ONLY with the battery, as is with MANY products. A word now about SLA (sealed lead-acid)battery maintenance for those who may NOT know this. If you drain more than 1/2 the charge of one of these batteries… AND then let it sit that way for a few days….a chemical reaction takes place that prevents the battery from charging further. Bottom line is that I let the drained battery sit too long and it no longer could be charged. Not wanting to waste this otherwise great product….. I went to ALOT of trouble to remove the battery and set it up to use any external 12v battery.

My suggestion to the manufacturers would be to make replacing the battery possible and able to use an external battery.

4 Stars Lot of Bang for the Buck
I was motivated to order this when we lost our power (aren’t we all) due to an ice storm.

My opinion is skewed positive as I got this for $59.99 delivered, hit a good sale with free (after annual fee of course) Prime delivery.

Positives:

– two 12-volt sockets, two 110-volt sockets

– can be recharged with car or plugged in to 110-volt

– has float charge, so can be left plugged in indefinitely

– weather radio which can be set to sound alarm with alert

– by far best jumper cables of three units I have personally used

– low profile with solid base and good handle

– good predicted battery life (meaning hours of use you get)

– four built in leds for emergency light

– bonus USB port to charge USB chargeable items (you need your own cable)

Negatives:

– Cheesy radio quality, but it works OK

– You have to tune in weather stations with knob, works but not quite as easy as digitally tuned weather stations

– cooling fan runs any time inverter is in use, my other units only run fan when they reach a certain power load. This may use a bit more juice

– a bit heavy to lug around, but hey, it’s a battery!

– the first unit I ordered the radio would not turn off, but the second worked fine, so hopefully that was just a bad unit. But, full disclosure

I actually bought three of these in deciding which to buy and decided this will stay in the office, as both a weather radio and a backup for my computer system when the power goes out.

I bet this would run my laptop for a day and possibly even my desktop with LCD monitor for a few hours at least.

I am using a smaller black and decker/vector for my trunk. Even in my Camry, this would take up a lot of real-estate in the trunk.

I think the main downside to these battery backup units is the battery will eventually die… maybe after 5 years or so. If your power goes out every few months for a few hours at a time, this will be a lifesaver. If it only goes out every 5 years, you may find the battery in this is dead (meaning it no longer holds a charge) when you need it… But, that is true of all battery-powered backup systems.

At $59 I would definitely buy again, would even buy one to keep at home. Even at $99, as much bang for the buck as most of what is out there.

5 Stars Portable power in a boombox
Used product on a long bus trip and it performed wonderfully, keeping video games and cell phones charged up. With a radio and light and weather band, it truly earns its stripes as a Black and Decker product, easy to carry, and easy to use.

5 Stars Met all expectations
With two aging cars in the garage, I thought this would be a good investment to minimize future towng costs. Sure enough, three weeks after receiving the Electromate, my car’s battery went dead. It was so easy and safe to jump the battery. It took about three minutes from start to finish.
