1 Star Cheap presentation equals cheap product
I received my Cell2Tel, and immediately noticed it looked used. The packaging was worn, the seal was broken, and the contents appeared used. I asked Amazon to send another one (which they did), and it looks the same as the first one. However, the second one has a bunch of static on the line when I talk, whereas the first one is mostly clear. I wonder if that means about 50% of them don’t work very well?
The product is made in China. It looks and feels cheap. The “User Manual” is actually a HP 52x CD-R with a small clear address label that says “User Manual” affixed. I thought this was a joke until I received the second one with the same “User Manual” CD. The installation guide is printed, but has stickers placed over the out-of-date portions.
The only saving grace is that one of the two I’ve tried appears to work okay so far. However, I’m skeptical about a product that puts so little effort into packaging and presentation. If they skimp on printing proper CD labels, where else have they skimped in the product? I’m not holding my breath that this product works for more than a couple of weeks.
5 Stars Works As Advertised: Better then Xlink
So far this device seems to work perfect and without any malfunction. It took me less then 5 minutes to setup and I am already using it. I have done multiple tests and no one can tell I am using my home phone through the bluetooth to my cellphone. I have had the Xlink BTTN and the Cell2Tel and the Cell2Tell seems to work better where I have heard from the people I speak to over the phone that the call quality is better with the Cell2Tel. I also called Grace Digital and was told the Cell2Tel is the newer version of the Xlink. The Cell2Tel also has the phone ports clearly marked for knowing which is the Line In and which is the Line out. I can not complain about this product and thus far would highly recommend it. If anything changes I will be sure to update this review.
5 Stars Easy product to use great technology
This product has saved me lots of money. I had my phone line because of the easy to use phone sets in the house. My cell phone is small and uncomfortable to talk for long periods of time. Now with Cell2tel I can still keep my house hold phone but do not pay for extra bill! Congress should make a rebate for this device to help save consumers on cost like the digital boxs
5 Stars Great product!
This product is great! It makes my life so much easier that I can leave my cell phone to charge in the kitchen, and then it will ring all through the house through Cell2Tel! I don’t even need my home service anymore! I highly recommend this product!
4 Stars Brilliant Idea, Works Well, Sketchy Packaging
I was so happy to find this product! I was keeping my landline to allow me to use traditional handsets, but now I should be able to get rid of it and save some cash every month. Setup was quick and easy, and it works great so far. The only problem I have with it is that the caller id only displays the number, not the name- this is likely a problem with my cell phone rather than the cell2tel.
I have to say I was alarmed by the packaging and included documentation. The seal on the box was broken, and the accompanying materials reminded me of what you get with cheap cell phone accessories from E-Bay (The manual came on a CD-R, and the design of the box looked thrown together). I only hope that they put more care into the design and construction of the device itself.
